Description
Worked with The Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) to redesign and modernize the authenticated or “logged-in” experience for Medicare sites by creating new digital products or services that offer the same features and capabilities as in the legacy MyMedicare.gov website. The goal for the Medicare Authenticated Experience (MAX) project was to provide Medicare beneficiaries with a secure, seamless, and personalized digital experience. Through their authenticated account experience, each Medicare beneficiary will have access to tailored information and self-service tools to confidently make informed decisions that improve their healthcare choices and health outcomes.
My role
As a design lead on the MAX project team, I led a team of designers to initiate, define, and design features and pages from concept to completion. In collaboration with a team of Product Owners, Content creators, Engineers, and Data Scientists, we explored, tested, and evolved experiences on Medicare.gov. As a UX designer on the project I was responsible for the end to end design process - from concept exploration, discovery, wireframes, and prototypes to detailed specs and polished visual design for each initiative I was assigned.
Key accomplishments
Successfully released the multi-factor authentication to allow 13 million beneficiaries to keep their accounts safe
Supported the release of the authorized representative experience, increasing the number of beneficiaries who enrolled an authorized representative to support their account management needs
Supported design for the new account home experience for Medicare for users to be able to access their information in a personalized and user friendly manner
Updated the UI and UX of various experiences across the authenticated site with the new design system to create consistency across the multiple pages
